Screamer2 slow motion problem

1 post by 1 person · 20 May 1997 - 20 May 1997

I have an occasional problem with Screamer2 where it suddenly goes into slow motion for the rest of the race. I don't mean it goes a little bit slower because of a lot of graphics changing - it goes to about 1 frame every 10-15 seconds !! It happened once when I was close to the finish and let it finish the race (took about 15 minutes). When I re-ran the race it was fine. Usually this happens too far from the finish and I need to reset the machine. It seems completely random where it will happen. The frame rate is fine before this problem strikes. Any one else have this problem, or have any clues as to why it might happen ? Some details :- Any track in Arcade mode. Any car. I run at 640x480 256 colours. Full install, no CD music. PC is Cyrix P166+, 16Mbyte Ram, Cirrus Logic 5446 1Mbyte, Audio Excel 309 sound card (Sound Blaster compatible), G-Force flight yoke as steering wheel. Thanks for any help.
