N2 - Can't connect modems for Multiplayer

1 post by 1 person · 04 May 1997 - 04 May 1997

I'm looking for any assistance with setting up Nascar2 for multiplayer using modems. Both players are using all settings within the game exactly the same, right down to the graphics all set to automatic. We both pick the same track, with the same number of drivers, caution flags set, etc. I'm using a USR 33.6 (internal) and the other player is using a Microcom 28.8. (parallel port). I am using the Sportster 28.8 setting and the other player is choosing the Hayes default setting. We've tried dropping the baud rates down as low as 9600, but it doesn't seem to help. Both modems do the handshake properly and then it comes up with connection failed after about five seconds. If anybody can offer any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Bryan
