I recently have been running some championship and
non-championship races on GP2 at 25% race distance. The first track I
did this on, Brazil, was fine; but when I ran this distance at the
Pacific GP track, I found that the amount of fuel that was allocated
to me at the start of the race was not enough. The race was 21 laps,
and I was given 23 laps of fuel to start, but in running the race
twice now I have run out of fuel after about 19 laps. Is there any
way to manually set the amount of fuel you're given at the start of
the race. I don't want to have to spend the whole race trying to
conserve fuel.
Anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?

Happened to me too, especially after changing the length of a quickrace
with GP2edit.
You just have to drive your balls off and make a pitstop.
Hi Matthew!
Yes, I've suffered a similar problem. I've only run a couple of 100%
races, but the first time I tried it (also at Aida), I ran out with five
or so laps to go. I assumed it was because I'd been pushing very hard
for most of the race, and therefore the fuel consumption increased. I
was pretty miffed when I realised I wasn't going to make it to the
finish (I was leading at the time). The only answer I can think of for
100% races is to make sure you add in 2-3 laps worth of extra fuel at
pitstops, and allow for extra laps on your first stint when setting the
pit strategy. For shorter races without stops, I'm not sure what would
be the answer, I'm not sure whether it's possible to set more laps of
fuel from within the car setup section for a short race, but I don't
think so.
If anyone else has got an answer or explanation for this I'd love to
know too.

I have played several 100% races at Hockenheim, in which the last few
last few laps nearly all the cars ran out of fuel and did not finish or
had to make splash and dash pit stops turning the result of the race
into a lottery.

I don't know what it is, but I tend to run out of fuel myself in Aida
Japan. I think that it's my driving style, but if I don't pay attention
and try to conserve, I'll blow the whole race. Steve
ps Andy since you like to run 100% race distance, you should check out
the off line gp2 series that I'm involved in. We need more drivers.

Try to avoid a high number
of rev's on the long straights (in other words: don't drive in the red
area!). This will save you enough fuel to end the full race.

I too have had this problem. I it was also at Aida, a bug in the code
maybe. I wasn't pushing very hard at 100% distance and yet I ran out of
fuel around 2 laps before the end and had to come into the pits for a
splash and dash before I started my last lap, thankfully no body was able
to overtake.

I assume it's because I use
the keys with noF7, so there's 100% throttle more of the time, so using
more fuel. What was intended to be a 2-stopper, changed to a 3-stop
strategy, and I still managed to run out by lap 77 (of 78) needing a
splash n dash. Still won tho :) Guess I'm gonna have to make a
wheel...
