Hi my fellow racers, I like everybody installed the patch yesterday (thanks to some people here in r.a.s who make me HAPPY!HAPPY!). In the readme10.txt file it says that 39 players are now allowed in multi. I was wondering if there will be a difference betwenn NRO and 39players on Kali. I know from my experience that with 4 or more players (on a 28.8modem) it's starting to be slow on Kali. 39 players should be awful. If people here try to race a 39player on Kali, please post here how was it. I would not spend my money for Ten (NRO) if Kali with 39players is fast. I don't think that Kali is faster than NRO but for only 20$ it's cheap. Thanks a lot, Good race at the Brickyard, (Old'Indytrack guy in rec.autos.simulators) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ =ymenard now!!! Let's see. Kali used the IPX networking included with N2. This is limited to 8 players. The changes you discuss may have to do with the computer cars used for 2 player and IPX races, and probably will also be used for NROS.

That's correct; IPX still allows 8 human players, the fix was to allow total cars in multiplayer (including AI cars) to be same as in single player. Aside from that, you'd need a pretty good fraction of a T1 connection to get a 39-player "Kali" race; you'd need much more than 56K baud of bandwidth ... Charlie Heath / Papyrus
