Im having trouble with the Nascar 2 patch. I've d/led both versions,
but still to no avail. It stops at Applying MODIFY File Patch to
Nchrltte.dat. Then, gives me an error saying the old file doesn't
exist. I have reinstalled Nascar 2, complete version, and either
patch does nothing to help. Can any1 give me an ideas?
Email and posted reply appreciated...
Thanks,
Raymond Loyola
The same thing happened to me after downloading and applying nas2pat0.exe
from The Pits. I downloaded the same patch from Sierra at
http://www.sierra.com/support/patches/#N and it applied 100% successfully.

original poster described on nchrltte.dat went away when I applied the
patch from Sierra's site. I don't make any claim about a green line, except
that I don't have that problem (for the record, nas2 patched from v1.00,
running renddma on a 32meg p133 with reactor3d and latest Intergraph flash
bios under DOS 6.22). Sorry dude...

Same thing happened to me with the patch I downloaded from Dave Sparks
Latenite site. Download another copy from Sierra and didn't have any
problems.
Just remember it updates 7 files. Those files have to be the originals,
from a full install, from the cd. So if you have the updated Nascar.exe
(year change) or edit the Atlanta.txt file you will continue having
problems

files were sent to me by email from Papyrus, and either I did something to
mess them up or they were sent to me incorrectly. I've been told that they
were backwards, i.e. the NAS2PAT1.EXE was actually the V1.00 patch, and
vice versa. I was pretty careful in handling them, but you never know. The
strange thing is that I took a copy of the NAS2PAT0.EXE file home and it
patched my copy of N2 flawlessly. But then again, that was a hand-burned
copy of N2 I got from Papyrus, so who knows? Too many variables.
Rather than try to figure out what went wrong, I just took them down (do we
really need 60 sites with the patch anyway?). If you're having trouble with
a version of the patch you downloaded from my site, I suggest you pick up a
copy from the Sierra site.
