The following copied from dejanews.com: I am re-posting this in hopes that N2 topic WEB site operators would investigate whether posting "Cyrix to Pentium" cpu id programs such as 686_p.exe really help anyone. If I try any of these, N2 will not run on my system. I seem to remember Jim stating that N2 will invoke Pentium specific operations if the CPU is ID'd as a Pentium. My Cyrix P166+ based system will lock up starting N2 if N2 "thinks" I have a Pentium.... Or am I missing something??? Jim? Any thoughts appreciated.

Nope. You pretty much have it covered. Obviously you can't execute Pentium routines from a Cyrix Chip. Thats what's causing your lock ups. Richard Scott Oracle/Sybase DBA Dallas, TX
