If the game *plays* like it does on the Playstation, then it's a pile of shite (IMHO) when ranked against F1GP2. Steve Phelan.
it! Bizarre Creations (makers) have said all the time that it is an "arcade racer" like POD. They havent even put a***pit in the game so....... Paul...
> If the game *plays* like it does on the Playstation, then it's a pile >of shite (IMHO) when ranked against F1GP2. Sorry, but I disagree. I'm in a GP2 league and I love it, and I play through the season in F1 and I love that, too. No, F1 isn't anywhere near as deep as GP2, but its still a lot of fun and does a good job simulating the sport, particularly the tracks. I fail to understand why the only two ratings for games here are either "pile of shit" or "rules". Randy

> I fail to understand why the only two ratings for games here are > either "pile of shit" or "rules". > Randy You mean their are other ratings? Oh no, I'm going to have to change my entire marking system! :-) Still, after playing F1GP2 for 3 months and then getting F1 on the Playstation I thought it was absolutely f**king cr*p (hey, another new rating!). I had a few mates try it out and they also had the same opinion of F1. Still, if you like F1, well that's fine by me - it's your money... Steve Phelan.

Well, the thing was still a huge seller for Psygnosis, so obviously a lot of people didn't share your opinion. What made F1 for the Playstation so great was really the tracks, in my opinion. Randy

I've played F1 on the 3DFX board at a trade computer show, and it's every bit as good as is reputed to be. It's fast, smooth, extremely highly detailed and very, very playable. (Though it did slow down occasionally when there was a lot on the screen - and I mean A LOT.) I prefer F1 over F1GP2 because I can just 'jump in the car' and drive. In arcade mode I can race round at ridiculous speeds and barge through large groups of cars without spinning off and losing the whole race. Realistic - no, fun - yes! Also the track modelling is MUCH more realistic than F1GP2 - the tracks look just like they do on TV. The impression of speed is much better too, and the camera angles are fantastic. It may not be as good a sim as F1GP2, but it captures the whole e***ment and atmosphere of Formula 1 in a way that F1GP can't match. I can't wait to get hold of my own copy. Steve R.
