Does it actually change the banking (banking at Texas is a lot less than C***te), or does it just change the name? -- "At the beginning of any project, a high level of e***ment can be found with a low level of execution." - Trevor Harris

> Does it actually change the banking (banking at Texas is a lot less than > C***te), or does it just change the name? The main banking at Texas is exactly the same as C***te--24 degrees. There is an area under the main banking that is banked 8 degrees. My apologies, but it has come to my attention that I made a major error in the CONVERT.BAT file. Seems I didn't change it back to the c:\ drive before putting it up. That error has now been corrected, so those having trouble with it, can download fixed file. DNR Enterprises http://members.aol.com/dredick825

Actually it is nine degrees, but it is not that big of a deal. The front straights are 100 feet longer at Texas, which is why the drivers thought the track was to tight. --
Actually, I think if you look at track details on [link lost in import: /***te.html] and [link lost in import] that the banking listed for both tracks is 24 degrees for the turns. I was at Texas this weekend, and have also been to C***te (heck, I live in the city of C***te, but crazy enough, have only been to the track twice). I will say that except for the fact that the facilities at TMS are all brand new (and thus for the most part, a lot nicer, except for parking) and the track is almost a full lane narrower, the two tracks are virtually identical. The major reason the tracks don't race the same is due to TMS being narrower (especially in the dogleg) and because a 2nd, high groove has not had a chance to develop in the track. But, I'm fairly certain this 'patch' just changes the name. > Does it actually change the banking (banking at Texas is a lot less than > C***te), or does it just change the name? > --

Any chance at getting one of these for N1?

Well I look at this way, I am thankful to the man for giving us this extra race to run. Yeah it might be C***te, but it's better than nothing. Until they come out with the real tracks for Daytona, Texas, and California we'll just have to make do with what we got. I even converted my Talladega to Daytona. It might not be Daytona, but I'm happy just to have these two extra sub track until we get the real ones. I hope that the man that did the two track conversions does the same with Michigan to California. If you don't want to run the conversion tracks than no one say's you have to. Once again I want to say thanks to the man that gave us these track conversion. PAM-MAN

So you don't have the graphics on the intro page, but wh cares. There is no difference when the game is playing. That and it takes up no extra space.

For the testing of this great conversion program, please look for a guniea pig, but not me, for I have already have had a virus on my Pentium-60. Still, IndyCar II and N1 run good on it. The banking is the same for the 2 tracks but the transion between the turns and straighta ways at Texas is very abrupt. At C***te the banking gets gradully lower coming off the turns, at Texas it goes from 24 to 8 > Actually, I think if you look at track details on > [link lost in import: /***te.html] and > [link lost in import]notice > that the banking listed for both tracks is 24 degrees for the turns. Yet it's ONLY A GAME , so just pretend that the front strecth is a 100 feet longer and pretend that the banking transition is more abrupt. It Shouldnt be tough since your already pretending to drive a racecar !

ACTUALLY, the prefered line is lower than the NASCAR groove down below the dotted line, which means they are running on the "INDY" track. -Bill
