Drivers: Papyrus I hope you are listening!!!!
How does the saying go:
"If you think it butter but its not its chiffon"
Well the same thing might apply to racing on the NRO!!
One of hawaii's best called me about 4 months ago and explained to
me that he had developed a twin computer for HAWAII racing.
You see when he races HAWAII he passes all the data from his computer
into and through another computer. The 2nd computer was used
to record and break the HAWAII COMMUNICATIONS PROTOCOL that
is what papyrus receives from our station. You see when we
are racing we are not really running on PAPYRUS's computer
we are running on our computer. And since the data from
the HAWAII in race mode is neither compressed or encrypted
and its transmiited in PLAIN MODE.
If you want to enhance your performance all you have to do
is modify the PAPYRUS language that is spoken by your computer
when in race mode!!
If you want to go faster just tell the computer so its can
tell PAPYRUS so it can tell all the other racers computers
where you are positioned on the track. This would allow
users to run laps over 250mph or unlimted speeds at any
track. With this dual system racing configuration he has
the ability to race alittle and than let the computer race
alittle. He can actaully toggle between the twin computers
from REAL to AI to REAL mode and conceal what he is doing!!!!!!!!!
When the computer kicks in it can always stay
a couple cars lengths ahead of the pack. This form of
language modification is totally 100% undetectable.
Now this can all be prevented and I hope PAPYRUS figures it out.

You wouldn't be talking about Huggins now would you Don?So thats how he
does it I told ya he cheats, you can call it what you want but it's
cheating!!!Oh by the way about the Testing not Racing it says right on The
Message of The Day letter when you first come on Hawaii any usage of
external programs or Hardware of any type is strictly prohibted and will
not be allowed. The only reason Huggins is still on is because they are
tring to figure out how he does it and how to stop it,I believe and I also
believe he won't be allowed in the NRO either we'll just have to wait and
see.

This form of >language modification is totally 100% undetectable.I agree!! If someone out there finds it necessary to cheat in order to
win a darn online racing simulation they need to have their head
examined. This is, after all, JUST A GAME! I don't get paided for this
in fact it cost me plenty to enjoy this racing forum. I hope that
Hawaii understands this. I think they have enjoyed a greater amount of
success then they originally anticipated. But, let the word get out
that people are cheating, and getting away with it, I think they will
see the popularity of Nascar Racing Online dwindle. And for those out
there that find it necessary to cheat, SHAME ON YOU AND GET A LIFE!

>>Sorry, incorrect answer! It is detectable.
>Please explain..
We'll, one of MANY ways would be to descreetly design limitations
into the physics engine that did not allow the car to cross certain
barriers under certain circumstances, regardless of the set up being
used. Rate of acceleration on certain parts of specific tracks is one
that comes to mind.
It's going to be an ongoing process to keep the RATs off the fence
and to keep them from storming the fort. Hacks do and will continue
to evolve because some people choose to use their god given talents
inappropriately (see Wernher von Braun). I would gladly download an
update every month if it would keep hackers too busy to have any fun.
Ha! Common sense says; the same disease that made them do it in
the first place will make it hard for them to stop at a certain point,
especially if they don't know where the line is.
If you want an answer from somebody who knows this problem
first hand, contact Huggins!!! Oh heck, I'm sure you know who to
contact ;-)
PS.
The rats have gotten fat and brave. They're coming out of the
woodwork.... Cool, we can line them up in our sites now!
I believe Papy knows exactly what they are doing by letting
things get a bit out of hand on Hawaii.

Maybe we'll see some hefty fines in the 13th division just like we see in
the flagship division! (g) Got your checkbook handy?

Is this a case of the variable connotation for the word "test"?
I agree that cheating is hard to define exactly. There are grey areas.
I also believe there is alot more black and white than most competitors
want to admit. I think if most guys dig deep in their conscience,
they'll know whether it's right or wrong. Unfortunately, the worst trap
is when you say to yourself "everybody else is doing it so I gotta do it
to survive". This drags in alot of guys who might otherwise be fairly
decent human beings. Forget fines and the like, the threat of permanent
expulsion from the NROS would be a good deterrent for a large number of
guys.
Just some thoughts,

I take my hat off to that man. I reckon I could probably manage a
200mph lap at Bristol before I could code something like that. Anyone
who has that much talent _deserves_ to win! Heck, imagine if he turned
all that time and talent to testing and developing setups? We'd all
get creamed :-)
Okay, I'm kidding, but I'm both impressed and appalled that someone
could and would go to such lengths for that! Wow.....
Cheers!
