Can anybody tell me weather the engine blows based on a random
selection by the program (your numbers up buddy) or due to
engine abuse (over-reving) over a period of time.
Do we have control over our engine failure by making sure the
engine doesn't over-rev.
For instance if I never over-reved the engine would it give
out.

What I was wondering was that if the breakdowns are rondom, is there a
way to edit the rondomability of them? I know a lot of you out there
have raced a lot of 100% races. I have only raced two. One at Talladega
and one at Martinsville. (By the way, I am really sick of martinsville
and probably won't race there again. I do not like the "flip" trick
because it has sent me into the wall a couple of times. I hope there
will be patch for this error because I believe that it really affects the
racing). Both of the 100% races I tried ended up as "something turned
loose in the motor." Is that quote a sure sign of a random failure or do
they say that sometimes due to engine over rev. I only had it red line
maybe every other lap for about a second and the oil pressure showed no
signs of impending doom. Is the oil pressure warning something that went
out with the save game feature? Just curious. If anyone replys, thank
you for your input and your time.

: I believe "something turned loose in the motor" is only due to
: random.
Well, recently I have had a few races end due to engine failure mainly because
I was redlining almost the 1/4 of the straights.( Track doesn't matter). With
this, the spotter told me to keep my eye on the gauges (HINT!). Laps later,
the oil pressure fell and kept falling. I took it easy on the gas to keep
from redlining and it worked for a bit. It did end in engine failure. All the
times this happend to me, the oil pressure lowered and the spotter hinted.
So this has been my experience with engine failure. I don't think its random.
If your 4th gear redlines alot down the straights, be prepared to push your
car back to the garage.
