I am disspointed by Daytona Speedway's haggling of the freeware Daytona
track made by the pits. They want to sue them for the track. But it
ain't fair. If only they could give us copies with a different track
name, then we can rename it with a secret utility. Also, I'd like to see
a version for ICR2.

Sue them for what? They made no money of the track. It would
be a hard case to stand up in court and I would be one of the first guys
to defend "The Pits"!! Thats one site we need!!
If anyone has a url to support "The Pits" in this matter please post it!

While I certainly wish we had Daytona available for N2, it is
International Speedway Corp.'s (owner of Daytona International
Speedway) decision to license it to whomever (including multiple
companies, or no companies) they like. They've chosen to license it to
Sega exclusively.
The mere fact that they made no money on it doesn't prevent Daytona
for suing for damages. If someone came and broke all the windows in my
house or keyed my cars, and I could identify who it was, I could sue
them for it, even though they didn't make any money on it. It's the
same basic principles of law, except the property we are dealing with
is intellectual property and not tangible, real or personal property.
It doesn't make it less valuable, just a little less obvious what the
"right" things are...

No. Some guy who called his daytona "USA Speedway" was haggled by
Papyrus, but that was for a different reason. If Daytona caught him, I
don't know. By the way, please give me a Daytona email adress.
Christopher
I'd be happy for the Dayton, OH International Speedway.

Hey, I'm the guy that got haggled by papy for USA SPEEDWAY. They said
that I could not post the entire DAT file. I was also contacted by
Daytona about not releasing Dayotna. The new USA?v2.0 is almost
done....if you want screenshots to to the NASCAR?Network's Message board
and look for the post. I am placing 5 new screen shots tonight and in
them will be Daytona and not USA?so everyone can see what you could have
if you bombard Daytona with e-mail
Go to The NASCAR?Network for the screen shots
