If playing ICR2 and N2 are the goal, buy a Rendition based video card. (There are several "brands," including Sierra, Canopus, and Intergraph which bundle the Rendition version of ICR2 with the card, and Creative Labs (3D Blaster PCI only) which also uses the same chipset, but doesn't include the Rendition version ICR2.) The Sierra and Intergraph are $175 $25, Canopus is a bit more, and I haven't a clue what Creative's costs... It replaces your existing video card. Don't bother upgrading your existing card to 2MB, as it will certainly be more hassle than it's worth (since the only thing you'll get is the *theoretical* ability to display higher color resolution in Windows or X, but it won't improve your games one whit...) ---Jim Sokoloff, Papyrus

Get a Rendition based card.It screams in ICR 2 and is pretty fast in Nascar 2,and it works with every piece of software I have accept of course F22 Lightning but I think theres a patch for that. > Can someone advise me on which Video Card is Best to by to play N2 in > Redition Mode????Is my old video Card replaced????I have 1mb of video > memory and my system is upgradable to 2mb of video memory. What is best > for me?Does anyone know??Money isnt a problem.

I called COMPUSA today, since I plan (tomorrow) on buying a Screaming 3d card, to get prices... I asked for prices on two cards.. Screaing3D and the soundblaster 3D pci board... the blaster PCI board, according to the gentleman at my local Comp USA (Latham, NY) said that the creative laps PCI board had been discontinued! Didn't matter as I've "planned" on buying a Screaming3D for sometime. Anyone hear about the creative labs discontinuation?

The only way to run N2 in rendition mode is to use one of the rendition based cards. This would be the Canopus Total 3d, Creative Labs 3d Blaster, Intergraph intense 3d, or the Sierra Screamin' 3d. At the moment there is no other 3d chip supported. It is definitely well worth the 150-200 dollars...
