Mike Beauchamp 17 Jun 2004 06:08 UTC#35797
Heyo, I posted a few pictures from the Montreal GP onto my website. http://www.mikebeauchamp.com under "Gallery". There's some pics I thought would interest the nerds in here that haven't been lucky enough to go to a GP (like I was until last weekend!) and walk on the track and such. There's some closeups of the marbles and the some of the curbs, etc. I definately noticed some inconsistencies with the track compared to F1C, especially the run-off areas of turn 4, and the final turn 13. But aside from that, I was actually suprised with how similar it was in quite a few spots. You really don't get a feel for the elevation changes, because I assumed the track would be nearly perfectly flat, and it isn't even close. -- Mike Beauchamp http://www.therevox.com - custom electro-theremins and stuff. http://www.mikebeauchamp.com - mike's personal site.

Yeah, you should go.. If you are low on cash, general admission actually isn't as bad as most people say it is. -- Mike Beauchamp http://www.therevox.com - custom electro-theremins and stuff. http://www.mikebeauchamp.com - mike's personal site. Sure.. I got all this extra money.. I'll just fly over to europe, buy some GP tickets and hotel rooms.. :) -- Mike Beauchamp http://www.therevox.com - custom electro-theremins and stuff. http://www.mikebeauchamp.com - mike's personal site. Think 500 US$ or more for a weekend ticket (seated) Regards, Hans

Oh it's close, just not PERFECT. The differences are small enough that it would only take 1 or 2 laps to adjust. Plus, the circuit is always changing.. new curbs being added, etc it seems. -- Mike Beauchamp http://www.therevox.com - custom electro-theremins and stuff. http://www.mikebeauchamp.com - mike's personal site. I have to admit that I was more partial to the girl pics than the broken car parts... ;-) Great Pics Mike! Thanks for sharing. Great pics and commentary, Mike. Thanks. We were hoping to get there this year, until they started muckin' about with the schedule, on-again, off-again. I'd prefer not to go to Indy F1 just to keep my money out of TG's pocket! Jim Mike Beauchamp wrote:

Depends on how tall you are. The first F1 race I went to was general admission at Detroit. It was tough to find a place where a 5 foot 7 guy could even SEE the cars... :-( I ended up watching the first half of the race on a big screen in Cobo Hall. Near the end, they opened up the grandstand there to anyone. So I watched John Watson win it from there...
