GP3?

> ALTHOUGH NOTHING HAS BEEN officially confirmed by publishers MicroProse, Surprise, surprise... [...] In other words, instead of releasing a patch or a cheap upgrade, they want us to pay out full whack for another half-finished attempt (cf. GP Manager and GPM2). My disillusionment with GP2 is virtually complete. And there will NOT be a HOF3... :-/ --

I Will not Blow my cash on any game again until I try it first. As far as Microprose and Crammond and GP3...hehe.. My CDR is ready. Burn baby burn!!
: Unconfirmed gossip lifted from the pages of PC Zone:- <snipped rumor of GP3 release> Sorry, but I do not plan on buying GP3. If Microprose expects me to bend over again so they can walk away -- never to be heard from again until they want more cash, NOPE! Not one thing was ever addressed with the flaws/bugs in GP2 by Microprose. Now they expect me fork over cash again to get the product that I should have gotten when I first bought it?! I think it should be called GP2.1 and we should be able to get it for an upgrade cost of $15.00 US or less. Then maybe I would consider it. The last class Microprose/Spectrum Holybyte product I bought was Falcon 3.0 (of course this was before the merger). At least this program was supported with patches and reasonable upgrades. -- **************************** Michael E. Right now the best thing that could happen is for Visiware's or Psygnosis' PC offerings to be good enough to take sales away from Microprose. Why does Microprose not give a hoot about us? Because they don't have to. They have the market for F1 sims locked up, don't they? And if you really want newer and better F1 sims, you're going to cave and buy what they sell, even if you're angry. You know it, I know it, and they know it. Its too bad they have to be run out of business by the competition in order to acknowledge their customers, but if Psygnosis and Visiware run away with enough F1-sim dollars by addressing the desires of disgruntled GP2 customers, perhaps even the customer-deaf folks at Microprose will sit up and take notice. Of course, by then, it may be too late, if the competition is good enough. Randy

I think the general tenor of posts in this thread sum up the prevailing attitude to any *rumoured* Crammond/Microprose F1 effort rather accurately. Whilst proclamations of "I'll never buy another MPS/Crammond production ...while gravity exists" etc will generally be forgotten IFF the rumoured GP3 turned out to be other than a replicated lemon like it's forebear, I suspect many won't rush out and purchase it sight unseen on release date this time. I certainly won't. It'll definitely be RIPtested first ...and no LAN = no purchase. From now on Microprose's products will be like Grand Prix Manager and GPM2. They will release a sequel claming thay its better than the one before. Yet it still has all of the bugs from the first game and new ones that will trickle down into yet a possible third game. -- To all you villans out there I say, knock off all that evil!
