Every time I goto play multi-player, regardless if it is a modem game or network, I get an error msg stating that "cannot init modem" or "cannot init ipx card." So I reinstalled N2 and the multi player options all worked fine, while I was in Dos, even in Kali dos, as soon as I went onto kali95 and tried to get a game going,up came those *** error msgs. Now I cannot get it to work in either Dos or Win95, can't even play a modem game. Can anyone help? I'm pulling out hairs here!! Tom

Hi Tom, I had the same problem. Check your car set. Make sure your "multi" carset is there. I downloaded Chris Fredericks' wc97 carset which saves your default carset in another directory while installing itself as the sole carset. Anyhow, I found that I'd get "failure to init IPX card" error every time I'd try a multiplayer race. Reloading the default set. (multi seems to be the one that works) solved the problem. As a side note , if using Chris' set make sure you go into N2 after you've installed it and select the carset from the info screen, or else upon selecting a race you'll be booted out of the program. Hope this helped, regards, Greg Gavel on Hawaii, TEN..and Kali and Kahn

I am now multi player capable. Thanks Greg! Noone else, including papy had any decent suggestions. Yours was dead on man. Jim hawaii:ingenious
