: Large binary posts do not belong in unmoderated discussion groups. : Please read this entire message, the Bincancel FAQ, and the complete : report (see below) before following up to or responding to this article. <snip> Damn, I was hoping that we would be seeing fewer of these. I guess some people just don't get it. Maybe they just post in newsgroups, without ever reading any posts first or checking the FAQ! Well, let's hope in the future we will see less and less of these posts in our little community. But then again we have a few people who don't give a (fill in the word(s) of your choice) about anyone else but themselves. To quote Michael Moorcock/Hawkwind: "Think only of yourself... ONLY OF YOURSELF!" -- **************************** Michael E. Carver ************************* Upside out, or inside down...False alarm the only game in town. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=<[ /./. Kinda funny i guess.....in a childish way. Mine IS bigger. Anthony Bulloch. Brisbane AUSTRALIA
When I logged on to my ISP this morning, there was a notice about the news being down for 10 minutes yesterday evening. Why, because they were installing a "binary filter". This software will filter out posts with binaries which are not in their proper alt. group. Some people just don't understand that posting binaries outside the proper newsgroups causes problems world wide. At least I am lucky and have a provider who does get must of the alt. hierarcy (excepting those used soley for posting pirated software). With the large amount of newsgroups and traffic, ISP's can not find the diskspace to retrieve everything. That's one of the major reasons that binaries are not to be posted in "discussion" groups. But, then again some people will never get it. They are the same type of people that if invited to your house, would rather shit in your living room than get up and use the properly designed facilities. -- **************************** Michael E.
