N2 Annoyance

Well, since Sierra/Papyrus reps regularly check this newsgroup, I thought I'd post this (minor) annoyance here in hopes that it may be resolved by the upcoming patch. Generally, I'm quite happy with N2, but this is just a little thing that I miss from N1. In N1, during a race weekend, you can go out and run practice laps prior to qualifying with other cars on the track. Using F2, you can see the lap speeds that the other cars have turned for comparison to your own. When you go into the garage to make setup adjustments and come back to the practice session, the speeds of the other cars from earlier in the session are still available to you (as is your own best lap from the session). In N2, when you do the same thing in practice, and then go back to the garage to adjust the setup and come back to the track, all the times from the other cars are wiped out and it's like the session is beginning all over again. There's no continuity to the session at all, and you don't have the ability to track your progress throughout the practice period (unless you use a pen and paper to manually record best laps in a session). For me, just a minor irritation in an otherwise great sim, and if it can be fixed I'd be a happy (or happier!) racer. Ian
I remember the AI cars' lap times remaining after a visit to the garage, but not the player's. After coming back from the garage you're at the bottom of the list with no time beside your name. Kyle Langston _________________________________ http://www.traction.git.net/nrcentral/

You're right, Kyle. What I should have added was that you could still see your own best lap by toggling F1. In F2 mode, yes you show up at the bottom of the list with no time shown. Ian
