I have just upgraded from Pentium 90 to Pentium 166 processor. Still I cannot even properly turn trees and buildings on (let alone sky) in hot lapping mode without the game getting all jerky. (I must say I am very allergic to jerkiness) I have a Diamond Stealth 64 2Mb Dram PCI card. Will I be getting significant improvements with a 128 bit videocard (Tseng ET 6000). Anyone any experience. BTW how are things with 3D cards, networking and GP2?? Any announcements from MicroProse yet?

I build systems every day for a living and I can tell you that the Stealth 64 2000/2001 are teriffic choices in mid line cards. Personnaly I have the choice of every card on the planet and I use a Matrox MGA Millennium and I can tell U It's the fastest thing I've ever seen for general use. (Short of a Glint Chipset. Never used one of them.) The Stealth 64 200x is mabey 10% slower and to be honest is a much better value, even though if I had to do it over I'd get another MGA. The 3D cards on the market seem to KILLLL Dos performance and don't do much for windows performance either. They run Rendition ready games OK but Hey, what do I do all day long. Do what You like but if You ask me, (And You Did..) Stick with the DS-2000 and go to a Cyrix 6x86 166 or 200. Want to see your system FLY. Use a DFI Motherboard ONLY. Happy Hunting....

I just switched (on my Pentium 200) between a Matrox Mystique with 2 Mb SGram and Diamond Stealth 64 with 1 Mb Dram. Frames were 23.2 per sec on the (very fast) Mystique and 19.6 on the (rather slow) Diamond Stealth of course with identical detail flipped ON. In GP2 there is NO benefit from 3D video cards because 3D is not supported in GP2 (unfortunately) So indeed there will be a substantial speed increase when you change from your Diamond to the Tseng card. Expect an increase from 3 to + 5 frames per second rgds Marc Biesmans, Belgium

I have a diamond stealth 3d 2000 video card with 4mb edo dram and gp2 flys.I can get everything in SVGA mode exept the sky. I have 133 pentium 32 megs ram. P.S. I had a 128 bit lightspeed with 2mbs ram and it didn't make much differance. But that was with my old system a PACKARD BELL 120 pentium 32 megs ram. the mother board slowed my system down
