Can anyone help me? I have just tried to reinstall GPL on Windows XP after
having formatted HD. I've tried all the ways suggested on all the websites I
can think of, and it still won't work. Neither does the 2004 demo, keeps
saying it can't find opengl.dll, and I can't find it either! have latest
drivers installed for graphics card (Creative NVidia Geforce 4 Ti4600), but
no opengl! Any ideas gratefully received! Originally GPL worked because
someone suggested a shortcut command addition of +set1 something but can't
remember what - anyone know what it could have been can you tell me that
too! I miss GPL now!!!!
In article <cdc7cn$i3v$[email hidden]>,

I'm not a major know-it-all when it comes to GPL, but seeing as you
mention using it on XP, have you ensured that you have indexing turned
on for the GPL folder (this is a requirement if you have formatted using
ntfs). If not then right-click on gpl folder >> down to properties >>
advanced button.

OpenGL.dll is a file that is installed with your graphics driver not
gpl. It should be in your C:\WINNT\System32\ folder. If you are using
the nVidia driver from Windows Update it may only offer D3D & not
OpenGL, so try a driver from nVidia instead. With your 4600 the 45.23
drivers are probably best for gpl.
Alternatively, there is a file called Rendogl.dll that should be in your
gpl folder if you installed the OpenGL patch. There is a D3D (DirectX 7)
patch too, you could try this instead. D3D is usually a little prettier,
but OpenGL is generally a little quicker & less prone to font & FSAA
corruption.
Malc.
Try to get bare bones (1.000, software rendering) up first.
Start over from there.
We are sharing your pain.
