I'm running Nascar in SVGA with most of the graphics off. Will this new
chip let me turn on more graphics on and keep the frame rate up? If it
does I want to buy one before N2 comes out. Thanks Pat

Ya, I'm semi-curious as well. Would it be worth my time to purchase a
Rendition ready board, if I only have a P60? I figure if a P100 can run
with everything on, I hope to be good to go by just turning off grass
and not drawing so many cars ahead. Would love to have someone's input
on the subject.

First off, a P100 can not run Nascar in SVGA with everything on at what I
would deem an acceptable frame rate (20+). Even with grass and track
textures off, I still don't think it would (even my P120 didn't).
As for what to buy, it's definitely a trade off you have to decide on. For
the money, the new Video card will give you the biggest bang for the buck
(under $200). Because the Rendition cards so some onboard geometry setup,
it does takes some of the load off of the CPU.

I don't think you'll see a significant improvement in this version of
Nascar. Only NASCAR 2 will be Rendition-enhanced. At that point
you'll definitely see a major improvement in frame rate and texture
quality -- but since this isn't a Windows Direct3D game, Rendition
support has to be coded right into the program, and the current
version of NASCAR has no such support.

So, go figure. Ask again tomorrow, that's when I
Ya, I would love to hear your input on everything. If you just wanted
to email and tell me what you think of it, and what I would expect with
my lowly p60, I would appreciate it. 'Cause unfortunately, I am
seriously considering buying the card. Ai ya, I need a life.
Thanks in advance

I'm running a Pentium 120,withe new Intergraph Reactor Card...basically
it improved my graphics/frame rate ratio by at least 50%!!!,on ICR2.
I'm no expert, but I see no reason to believe it should'nt do the same
for your P75.
As for Nascar,it's not designed to run existing (2D) games dramatically
faster, but you should legitimately expect it to be at least as good as
your current 2D card...of course you'd also be ready for Nascar2 then.
Call tech support at Intergraph and ask 'em...from my experience so
far, they are straight talkers...no bull----....You'll get an honest
answer from them.

Well, you asked for it. I have a P-120 with a 2meg PCI S3 video card, and
it will not run Nascar 1 with all the graphics at an acceptable rate. It
is pretty choppy. Turn off the grass and the asphalt, and it moves pretty
good. It just all depends on what you consider 'all graphics' and
'acceptable'. You may have heard someone say that thier DX4-133 ( I have
one too ) or lower will run great with all graphics on, but when you ask
them they almost allways say that they had this or that turned off, or were
in VGA mode, not SVGA. So, go figure. Ask again tomorrow, that's when I
get my card! :-)
