The install seemed to go ok but all I get when I try to run it is
two error messages:
unable to read gameopts.cfg
cannot load mip.cfg
One of these files is not in any of the directories. Does anyone
know what's wrong?

I assume you are referring to the demo.... Do not run the install.
However, make sure that you unzip the demo file with -d switch to create
and place files in their proper directories.
