Help with patch for nascar1 for Matrox Mill. card

Help.. I friend of mine told me that there is help for people who bought their copy of nascar before getting matrox milleniums, and are stuck with a version of nascar which is unoptimised for their graphics card. Is there a patch which will upgrade nascar 1, to play hand in hand with the matrox millenium card. Any help will be VERY much appreciated. sam

Go to http://www.matrox.com/mgaweb/ftp_mutl.htm and download NASCAR.ZIP. It will produce a NASCAR.EXE that is optimized for the Millennium. I experienced about a 25% frame rate improvement will all detail on. Note that you cannot use this on Hawaii. Well that is interesting. I have the original Matrox version that came with the card, and I can run on Hawaii. Are you sure you aren't doing something else different??? Earl (esetser)

- Hawaii uses Multi.exe , not nascar.exe . There are no accelerated features in multi.

I have heard that the specially optimised version of Nascar Racing for the Matrox Millenium Card will not run with the Track Pack. I think I read this on Sierra/Papyrus Web site. I could be wrong since my memory has been jarred since kicking-ass at Talledaga. Has anyone else heard this or had experiences? Duke

Duke, perhaps that was an earlier release of the Matrox version, I have had absolutely no problems with the Track Pack. Sam, go to: http://www.matrox.com/mgaweb/ftp_mutl.htm and download NASCAR.ZIP. When you start the game, you'll notice that the version number is MX-1.21! Pat.

There is a patch, on mga's site to fix ability to use carsets. it seems to be the whole .exe you copy over your copy that Installed of the cdrom "Mega pack" version 1.02. I have not had the supposed problems with carsets, but I have only added cars 96 & Trucks 96 sets. Track pack is fine as far as I know, unless it secretly had replaced the nascar.exe that came with my MGA millenium CD. In which case I might have fixed by putting the new nascar.exe from the site?
