I have made a little progress in my attempts to test (hack?) my P166.
I can now make win95 report I have a pentium processor, for whatever
that's worth, but now the ncr2 demo hangs at the papyrus logo instead
of when you click race :-) So, i derive the problem is not with a
hardware check but more in the code itself. That makes me wonder how
papy "allready fixed" it so fast.
Ah well, at least now maybe the god awful sierra install program wont
correctly id my cpu and tell me it doesnt meet the minimum p60 req.
( p60?? exscuse me? did i just jump back in time 2 years? :-) )
working on it.....
How did you get Win95 to recognize a cyrix as a pentium????
Registry entry ?????????????
