Tom,
Not sure if you've heard of this, but it is a free DOS emulator for
playing old games on current PCs
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1
Some people were talking about the original Indy 500 Sim. I picked up a
copy from (shoot, can't find the bookmark now). It was a site with lots
of old games.
Anyway it was interesting to play it and see where we've been :).
I'd like to see some of the early flight sims we played. I am sure they
are out there on the internet ... somewhere.

Well, technically. If you consider less than 1 fps to be "running" (and
that's with the graphics turned down to minimum), and it takes forever
to navigate the menus. :(
But I did save a screenshot from in-game, just for the sake of never
having gotten it to work in DOSbox before. ;)

After fiddling with some dosbox settings, I managed to get a whopping
1.6 fps! My 1 GHz machine clearly isn't cutting it, and I'd be better
off running it under Win98's DOS.
I wonder what the fps is like on a 3.4 GHz box?

Ha Ha, that is funny, a Dos box emulator, hehehe hehehe it is nt like
trying to emulate a Mac on a pc, or maybe an amiga. Whooo thanks for the
link, boy that was fun.

When we first moved up to fast computers...my son had a AMD Tbird 1200+,
all he did was dload old Nintendo 8 bit games. MAN! that used to chap my
hide...! More computing power than the Apollo Moon landing and he plays
8bit games. sheesh!

Heheee, well until Nascar Racing came along, PC was the acronym for Piece of
Crap, after NR, PC meant Play Computer... now you know, if it weren't for
MS & PC's being prevalent as a toaster I would have my job... Networking
Tech (AKA PC Support Technicial) I mean really... <VBG> I'd still be
repairing Radio's and TV's LOL.

be any harder to emulate a "car" using your on hand 73 pacer, right?
Crap that was messed up...
also note the typo... shoud have read like this...
"now you know, if it weren't for MS & PC's being *AS* prevalent as a toaster
