Okay folks it finally showed up at Sierra's ftp site. This patch requires the 1.0.0 -> 1.0.2 patch first. ftp://ftp.sierra.com/pub/sierra/patches/sports-sim/icr2win.exe -- **************************** Michael E. Being that it is 4.5 MB, I guess so... -- Regards, Disclaimer: Scott D Fraser The opinions made up here are my own. Being that it is 4.5 MB, I guess so... Yes! You will actually have two versions on your disk. You can play via DOS or Win95. The Win95 paintkit is wonderful. It is a precursor to the NASCAR2 paintkit. -- **************************** Michael E. What was all this bullshit a few months ago from Sierra/Papyrus before the Dos patch came out about not being able to put out a Dos to Win95 patch because it would be too big for downloading. Another way of squeezing money out of our pockets by first seeing how many people buy another copy of Indycar 2 Dos/Win95 version and then a few weeks later asking for $15 dollars for the Dos to Win95 upgrade CD and then a few months later putting out a patch after seeing how many suckers they can pull in. I think this is pure bullshit and they should offer those who bought either anyother copy or the upgrade should be refunded (BTW, I did not do either but I am pissed off over the whole thing).

Let me get this straight ... you need to have TWO (2) ICR2 directories in order to have both DOS and WIn95 versions playable?!? Not just one directory with perhaps different *dat*-files for different versions? I just wouldn't want to have all my track directories twice on the HD ... I'm running out of disk space, but I want to play both versions ... -- Henrikki (Hena) Hakkanen Tel. ?(9)0-345 5538 ------- The best way to accelerate a Mac is 9.81 m/s2 -------- -------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: Opinions expressed here are mine and does not necessarily reflect those of my employer!

It will require a full installation though. For the Win95 "setup" you will need to move your normal ICR2 directory under a \SIERRA directory. Otherwise everything stays the same. Of course you do get a few more files with the win version. -- **************************** Michael E. No -- the same version plays in both modes. The win95 version if you run it inside win95; executable file is WINDY.EXE. But Indycar.exe is still there, and if you exit to DOS you can then execute INDYCAR.EXE, and run the DOS version. However, the Win95 version stinks -- locks and is slow. But the paintkit is cool.

This patch > >requires the 1.0.0 -> 1.0.2 patch first. > [snipped announcement about patch now available] > [snipped response about the patch being BS] I've never had any problems running v1.0.0 right from the DOS mode, save for the occasional crash back to DOS with a screenfull of code staring back at me. I've had that happen with NASCAR too, so I suspect it's some conflict somewhere.
