Just did a fresh install of GPL, rebooted, updated to 1.2x, added the
D3D and CPU patches, and tried to run it (set to software initially).
The splash screen comes up, the monitor clicks like its changing
resolution, flashes black for a second, then back to the desktop I go.
I tried addin the D3D lines to core.ini (renamed from core.ini.sample)
per the readme and changed the rasterizer line in app.ini to the
d3d.dll and still same results. Reset video to disable FSAA and
Anistropic and still same results. Am I missing something? I swear it
ran on this machine before... Even tried putting a. Open-Glide DLL in
and pointing it to that, same results..
PIV 3gz (800mz)
1 gig PC 3500
2x120GB in RAID 0 (240GB)
ATI 9800 Pro 128 - Omega 4.7 drivers
SoundMax on-board sound
All drivers up to date.
Thanks for ANY help.

Sheesh.... what a bozo I am...
Turned Indexing On in services and set it to enabled for \GPL and its
subfolders. Works perfectly.

to enable the SERVICE. Simply enabling indexing on the relevant directory
tree is sufficient.
