GP2 Dumb newbie question - please help

What could be worse than buying GP2 and not being able to use it. I bought GP2 last night. I installed it, setup my sound card (worked), Virtual pilot pro wheel and pedals (worked also). When I try to practice or run a race, I am placed in the pit with the car up on the jack. Please read the rest before you suggest something I have already tried. When I try to practice or run a race, I am placed in the pit with the car up on the jack like the book says. The book says I need to select 'Leave the pit' but I can not figure out how to do that. The [] are around the first of four selections which is selecting how much fuel to put in. I can select the first or second option with the buttons on my stick (the second being something about tires) but I can not select leave the pit. The mouse is not working when I am in the pit although it works elsewhere so I don't think I am supposed to select leave the pit with the mouse. When I choose to use the keyboard instead of the yoke and pedals I have (which is totally unacceptable), then in the pit the [] are on leave the pit and I have no problem leaving the pit. The manual says that when the keyboard is chosen, the select key is the spacebar but when I am using the yoke and pedals, it does not say which key is the select key. I have tried every button on my yoke and every key on the keyboard. What do I need to do to get out of the pit. Thanks in advance. Eddie Hunnell

Whatever you are using for the shifter, that's what you need to press as the "select key". Craig Marcho

Sounds like a calibration problem with the pedals. I had the same thing at first when I was setting up. You should be able to move the []'s up and down with the brake and accelerator pedals, and use a fire button for select. When you start the []'s should be on 'leave the pit', but if the calibration is out it shoots straight to the top and you can't move it back. The problem should be solved by recalibrating. It took me a few goes, I had to calibrate the brake pedal backwards, and guess the centre points, but it works fine now. Regards, James.
