Will you need an FPU CO-PROCESSOR to be able to run NASCAR2?? I don't have one so I was wondering. I've an OLD 486. THANKS. Tom Wardell [link lost in import]

So far the only game that has actually made use of a FPU is Quake. The only other applications that make use of the floating point unit are graphics rendering programs or CAD programs. Come to think of it your 486 should have a floating point unit built in, if it's a 486DX, although I remember a 486DLC and 486SLC that needed co-processors. Anyhow I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, I highly doubt that the changes between Nascar1 and Nascar2 involve switching the graphics engine to render in real 3D, which is one of the reasons Quake uses the FPU. It was so long ago) also used the FPU for the most realistic flight model, but it wasn't required if you flew one of the more simpler flight models. -- +------------------+--------------------------------------------+ | G.
