With only one race to go at Long Beach the championship is coming down
to the wire with everything to be decided Aug 29th!
After the five hard fought (but gentlemanly) races that made up the
shortened summer series, Joe Reed, by virtue of his two wins, holds a
slim 6 point lead over Steve Brunt (one win), with a maximum of 18
points on the line it's still anybody's bet who will come out on top.
Fan's shouldn't forget to factor in reigning champion Gerry Sweetland
in the final round either, although mathematically out of contention
to hold on to his title with two wins for the season, including a
dominant performance at Gotzenburgring, he could still steal crucial
points from the contenders when we hit the left coast.
As always there will be serious racing away from the podium as well
between series regulars Mike "early riser" Cornelison, sentimental fan
favourite Eldred Pickett, as well as Jeff Goldner, Josef Paul, ZZ
Busch and a host of others.
Stay tuned to see how it turns out or better yet join us yourself for
