I think some of these people are using steering help, you can tell in the
replay because the car turns like you say, as if it is on rails, not the
gradual way unaided steering replays do.
I am still working on my Monza times, my best so far is a 1m24:200
with only the dotted driving line enabled, still working on a good line
without that one help. A real driver should be able to do hotlaps with no
aids.

You should add some shift buttons to the T2 wheel spokes, it can be done
in an hour or two and about $10 worth of parts from Radio Shack.
Check [link lost in import: /~wottenad/wheel.htm] for great instructions on how
to do this.
Cheers.

Most (if not all) of these people turning fast lap times are using "Steering
Help", and therefor, are not "real men" (not to cut ya'll down, but it's not
very realistic to use steering help).
I agree w/you. The T2 shifter is hard to use when trying to keep the car
steady, prepare for a corner, and then braking. I've seen some posts here on
placing the buttons on the steering column, but I'm working on a way to add
something similar to the "butterfly" shifters like in a real car. If I can get
it to work, I'll sure post something about it.....

I also had the same problem and mounted the shifter buttons to the T2
steering wheel, which works VERY WELL. Look at Wall Ottenad's homepage
for a description how to do this.

The mod is very easy to make, takes less than 30 minutes and a few
bucks.
