Man, this was a hard post to which to make comments! I've never seen a run-on sentence this long in my life. Hopefully I can try to make my comments and not lose the flow... <<come on people are we just trying to hard to like the game and i do mean game because it took forever to get here, it is nothing more than gp1 done over with a little better graphics...>> I'm sorry you didn't like it. Personally, I find it to be great. I love the feeling of locking up the tires if I'm not careful. As well, I love the prescence and dimension of the chicanes on the tigher tracks. Imola is pretty quick, but there are two spots where you can get the car airborne and lose time over the chicanes if you're not careful. <<if you cant get a sensation of speed like you can in icr2 i don't feel that you are really racing , i don't get the wet hands from gripping the old T2 hard as i can in icr2...>> Formula One circuits generally aren't as quick as IndyCar circuits to begin. In my opinion, the game seems to have a little more "feedback" than ICR2 or NASCAR because of the ability to really***up if you're not careful. I got and incredible appreciation of IndyCar drivers and NASCAR drivers from those sims, but the Formula drivers really get my kudos! <<even with all the help stuff off it is just to easy...>> Easy? I think I'll just let that one slip by the wayside... <<i think because it is just to slow and i have a p150 w/16 ram and 2meg video.>> Take a look around... most of the home/desktop machines are moving toward capabilities we never imagine a home machine can do! It's not just because of this game... the current machine market is moving toward high-end Pentiums and Pentium Pro's faster than you can shake a stick. NT will probably become a force on the home PC market soon, although it still has problems with backwards compatability as far as drivers and software support go. NT will *never* replace UNIX in the server market... of course I'm a biased UNIX dork... but at home it will be en force, I feel. <<i know i could hardly wait to get this , but i think i will stick to icr2, in gp2 if you could see your front tires like in gp2 it would really help take the corners of course this is just my opinon...>> I thought the game was too easy for ya'? You want to make it easier?!? Do real Formula cars have visibility of the front end from the ***pit? I'm not sure. <<...i think we all just expected way to much>> Again, I'm sorry you didn't like it, but I got what I wanted. This is not a slant toward anything else, but I'm really please with the game. We keep hearing nightmarish things about machines with poor frame rates, but I have found this game to be extremely playable with what you may consider poor. Ah well... Umm maybe you need to adjust your graphic settings cause it gives me a wonderful sensation of speed. I think all this talk of one is better than the other is silly. Each sim brings to the table its version of whats important to suspend belief. And to argue that GP2 is an arcade game is really too much. They are both ARCADE games. For us to really have some realism going we would have to introduce some risk...ya know lets develop a device that would deliver the equivilent force to our bodies that running into a wall at 200 mph would so if we crash it goes off.. Now strap in see doesnt it feel much more real. hehe FEAR...now lets see you dive into a corner 2 a*** with your hair on fire. I disagree with you totally on this one. Could you tell? I love both sims....well correction all three sim/games GP2, ICR2 and NASCAR. Pierre PAPA DOC Legrand

Proably because with GP2, when you turn the wheel the car turns. In ICR2, you turn the wheel and pray...
I guess people are entitled to their own opinion and this makes a pleasant change from "GP2 is the best thing since sliced bread". If the game is so easy what help options do you have on? can we see some hot laps/PA files? The game has it flaws over ICR2 (sturdy cars, superhuman pit crew) but it does have other things to offer like the curbs and ability to get the car airborne. As for the graphics/speed it seems fine on my P100, you just have to compromise on some of the options just like you do on ICR2 Mark _________________________________ "..every lap I think `Oh bollocks! -- Hello, here. I',ve drive on Karts and Formula Ford and in think Indycar2 is more realistick than gp2. But i'ts my point of view. ps. i have wheel and pedals (gaz-brake-clutch) of my own fabrication more finest than t1 or ohter plastics wheel !! : I',ve drive on Karts and Formula Ford and in think Indycar2 is more : realistick than gp2. I've said it before, but everyone knows I repeat repeat repeat myself... GPx & ICRx are two different "artistic" approaches to simulating racing. Not only do they simulate different formulas, they do it in different styles. I think Geoff has done an excellent job in simulating how it feels to be a F1 pilot. He has simulated the way the car would feel if one really knew how to pilot it. Whereas I think Papyrus attempted to simulate the way the car feels and the user has to learn how to really "pilot" it. We see the same kind of distinctions in Flight Sims also. I just glad that we have both, but I agree with Sebastien... -- **************************** Michael E. What is rather quickly? If you stepped right into GP2 and smoked a couple of records wed all like to share in your happiness so post em. I have had the opposite feelings though. I have yet to break one qualifying record in GP2 but on ICR2 I have broken most and had broken a feww within a week of buying it. Dont get me wrong I love ICR2 and NASCAR but people saying GP2 is easy blow my mind. By the way I race with wheel/pedal and all help off at Semi-pro level and get very middling results.
: Yeah, I was able to zip around a track I didn't know terribly well : rather quickly in GP2, yet I'm still all over the place at a track : I know intimately (Laguna Seca) on ICR2. Dang, it's difficult to : brake and turn at the same time approaching the Corkscrew... Back : end gets reeeeal light. Sounds like you might want to fiddle with your brake bias. Looks like you are throwing to much weight to the front wheels under braking. BTW: have you patched ICR2? Handling is alot better with the patch. : Saw a computer car in ICR2 do something fun last night. As I was : wrecking, I knocked him away from his pit entrance, so he ended up : bashing against the outside of the pit wall until he got parallel : to his stall, at which point he just slithered sideways through the : wall and into his pits. Neat trick! Yes, Papyrus has been very kind to their AI cars in their sims. They all have 4-wheel steering for entering and exiting their pit stalls. ;-) -- **************************** Michael E. I have always wondered if this is the reason the user always gets the last pit stall. If you had a different stall, getting into it when the pits are packed would be a real *** without that 4-wheel steering that the AI cars have. Even in exiting the pits I have to back up a bit to avoid hitting the car in the next stall on some tracks. If they didn't give us the last pit stall, I think we would see a lot of complaints about getting in and out of the pits smoothly. I think Papyrus made the right call on this. Yes, it would have been nice to have variable pit-stalls, but if you could not get into it, what good is it? Gary Cousins AMD 29K Engineering
