Please, I am begging for help from all of you experts out there who know their way around Need for Speed. I can not, for the life of me, get the sound to work. If I run it from DOS prompt when I'm out of Windows, I can't get any sound. But if I run it through a DOS shell and switch the sound options in Options, I can squeeze out a little bit of sound. My card works fine for everything else, including Nascar, which I CAN run from the prompt, and I can get sound fine. Any patches or help in any way WHATSOEVER would be Eric

what might work, is to reload the sound drivers after exiting windows, as it some times works -- Aaron Miles (Aka THE PONTIFF) -- WWW http://www.aardvark.apana.org.au/~pontiff -- Aardvark Internet Australia 03-9886-3800 (Modem)

I don't know if this will help you but, I used auto-detect and it found a SB Pro but it still didn't work. I left it like that and went into the game and changed the sound from stereo to mono and it works great. Not stereo but far better than nothing. hope it does help Mike Lewis
