Remember that are more than 1 Diamond cards labelled Steath 64. They are based on different chipsets (ARK2000, S3 Trio764, S3 Vision864, S3 Vision968, etc). You need to know the specific the model (2121,2201,3200,DRAM,etc). All of the above models I listed where being produced at the same time. By now I'm sure there are more models out there. Check the group comp.sys.ibm.hardware.video for more info and personal experience. I've heard they are very poor at supporting thier cards and are later than other manufactures with driver updates. Just what I hear. I personally have and like the Hercules Stingray64/Video (cheap too).
Is it fast enough in dos, is it any good in Windows? Somebody please help me, thanks in advance. --

Yes it certainly is a fast card. I have one that allows Grand Prix 2 run smoothly is SVGA. It's very fast in Windows as well. There may be better cards out there now though. The Stealth 64 card is well over a year old now. I definetly recommend it though.
Actually, I got my Diamond Stealth 64 2mbDRAM to work in DOS and Windows95. I got the new drivers for Windows95 and I love them. They work very well, indeed. I haven't had a problem with them and they are VERY VERY fast. You can also have virtual desktop space, the start button anywhere you click etc. All sorts of excellent features with the InControl stuff. The DOS stuff took a while to figure out. This might save you some grief, especially with ICR2 or any game that uses UNIVBE5.1. It would not allow me to use UNIVBE until I ran uvconfig with the -L32 option which loaded the linear framebuffering in a different spot in memory. After I did that ( I have a DX120 ) I can now run ICR2 in full SVGA with only the asphalt texture toggling once in a while with 31 other opponents. Unparalleled! It is gorgeous. It doesn't even drop frames of detail when I spin. After I figured this out, I became VERY happy with the performance of the card. Good luck, email with any questions. -- Jeffrey Hunsberger ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ get the latest racing news at my news link site: the A P E X: Jeff's Racing Links Site http://www.voicenet.com/~jeffreyh/apex ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Netscape 2.0 enhanced!! > >Is it fast enough in dos, is it any good in Windows? > >Somebody please help me, thanks in advance. > >-- > from what ive heard its ok in DOS but the win95 drivers R crappy... > win311 works fine. > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Ville Kopu~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > ViK at IRC, #f1 & #gp2 http://koti.kolumbus.fi/~vkopu > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Second is first of loserS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As with any other piece of hardware, you should always update to the latest drivers. The Win95 driver on the Win95 CD-ROM is quite a piece of rubbish, however the current Win95 drivers and the InControl Tools available on Diamond's web site are quite good and boost graphic capabilities quite a bit. Using Wintune, I noticed a 25% increase inperformance from the drivers alone. I can't remember exactly what the stats were, but it any of you all wants to know just email me and I'll gladly mail you a comparison of what I had before and after the latest drivers. Also, I received an email from Diamond's Tech Support telling me that the latest Win95 driver, which became available a little over a week ago, is DirectX compatible.
