Hi all, 3hours 44minutes and 4seconds later........ Brilliant! I have just finished playing F1GP2 for the first time and i must say it has left me speechless, breathless and someotherless! ;-) My computer setup is P166, 32MB EDO with a Diamond Stealth 4MB VRam Card and i must say the upgrade from a P100 seems to have been worth it :) Monaco with all detail on at SVGA is wonderful to look at but absolutely unplayable! Turning off the mirror details, sky, road etc. didn't help at all BUT turning on Automatic detail came up with an average frame rate of 16 and at that setting it definitely is playable! Even when close behind the other cars (ie. up the exhaust pipe!) the frame rate didn't change at all. (Only when Automatic is on though, the manual settings seemed to give a max of 8fps although it showed an average of 12...) The other tracks are equally beautifully drawn and the cars just have to be seen to be believed! The best point for me though is the way the car handles. Drive over the kerbs and prepare to take off! The sound is fantastic too, close your eyes and you are there! :-) I better stop now, too many exclamation marks and besides, i want to get my first season started :-) It has DEFINITELY been worth the wait! (There's another one....) ;-) Broady PS, one thing that REALLY surprised me is the fact that the Game here in Germany is actually in german, not just the manual either but the whole game. I would have thought the english version would have been available first?
Hi Steve, I thought you had died or something... failing to answer my e-mails over the past 9 months or so. Please e-mail me. -- | Author of F1GP-Ed, ButtonMenu | | | & CDRun.
