>To all, > Rally australia has been released (BETA demo). This is available at >http://www.iap.net.au/~sls/software.html > I can't get it 2 work as yet, but hey, let me know what u think of it. It worked straight away on mine. The only problem is the unforgiving sides of the course, you just get slightly off the track and your speeds drops heaps. An it's a little slow graphically. But other than that, SLS may be onto something here. cya craig

I downloaded and couldn't get it to work on my system. I kept getting an error #7 and something about bank 16. I tried changing the sound settings to everything the program supports but nothing helped. I've got a standard SB16 set at 220, IRQ5, and DMA 1. Can anyone help? Joseph Gates

You need UniVBE VESA driver, as the readme suggest. I didn't bother to download the latest v5.2, but used instead v5.0 from Need 4 Speed. It sort of works, like the textures work only after hitting function buttons, where the settings can be changed during the game. Otherwise I'm quite disappointed with this alpha software (this feels so early stuff I can't call it even beta test version), as there's no feel of driving, the car stops to a halt if you go too close to the edge of the road, silly sounds etc. It reminds me of Hard Drivin' on Amiga almost 10 years ago, which was a very poor port of the original arcade game. Just nice pictures of real rally cars doesn't make it worth being called a simulation.
