This might be asking for much, but would you please consider it.
After 15 months of wrestling with these 3500lb. beasts in NASCAR 1,
I have concluded that I just can`t drive these things.
I was wondering if you if you had considered putting a crew chief
option in NASCAR 2, or maybe in a follow-on patch. What I mean by crew
chief is that you set-up the car ( I really love trying to figure
setups out) and have someone else do the driving. You could pick the
driver you wanted in the car, have them run a few laps at the track,
pull in the garage and give a report (ie, "she was loose coming out of
turns 2 and 4".) and your job as crew chief would be to find the
perfect setup. Once you are happy with the setup (lap times) then you
would be ready to race. During the race, your driver would tell you
what the car was doing and you would try to fix it (if it needed it)
on the next pit stop.
I don`t know if I am by myself on this. I would rather put a wrench in
my hand instead of a steering wheel. Is there any hope for this type
of option for NASCAR racing?(ie, be it NASCAR 3; NASCAR 4).
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

um, ... would someone help me get my car out of the granstand ; )
NASCAR Racing; Everything else is just a game.
GO Bobby Allison Motorsports #12 !!
I also think this would be a nice enhancement to the program. How about
it, anyone else want to see this addition?

But if it means more complexity to slow
down my 100mhz Pentium which is already struggling to run Nascar then
NO! ;-)

: We've tossed around the idea of a NASCAR Manager type of program very
: similar to this. It certainly can't make it into NCR 2, but you never
: know down the road. It certainly would add another dimension to the

--- no offense Ed, but I must confess that I have been having MUCH fun with
Grand Prix Manager by sh/mps. I personally can't wait for that idea to be
ported ovr to NASCAR. Obviously it would have to have different emphasis'
such as more pitting considerations (cautions etc) and drafting/hooking
up with other drivers, but it would be fantastic, IMO.
--- In fact I think I have suggested this a few times to Jane.... is she
still with you guys??

that would be cool, but i'd rather have crew chief to set my car up for me
in advance so i wouldn't have to (me and wrenches just don't get along all
that well <g>) and tell me that i don't need to win the race in the 1st
turn (i have a problem with that to <g>)

Well, yeah, but a very important part of doing the setup is having the
driver run the car for some hot practice laps to see if changes to
setting improve or worsen the cars handling and performance.
It might work to let a chief do setup and hot lap testing, but
everyone has a slightly different driving style. Reaction times etc
just aren't the same, so a setup that runs great for the crew might
handle like dogshit for the driver & vice-versa.
There's just no way to get peak performance from a car that you
haven't turned a wrench on or at least put some laps on after every
single adjustment.

problem is and he sets the car up. I stink at setups but can drive
very well. Once I find a decent setup I usually win the races.
