I believe in the read me files it mentions that you should use Sound Blaster 16 for the Awe 32 sound card. Try that.

Hello Dave I am running my AWE32 in win 95 on a P75 with 16MB RAM, etc. F1GP runs straight out of win 95 with no problems. Having said that, I did have fun getting the sound card functioning in win 95 in the first place. Right now my config.sys is made up of nothing, as is my autoexec.bat. I have installed the latest version of the win 95 drivers from creative and they seem to work fine. If you haven't done this it is worth the effort. Just remember to uninstall the current drivers first, othewrwise you get all sorts of strange happenings. The properties to F1GP on my machine are set to prevent Dos programmes from detecting windows, auto memory (conventional), 4096 EMS, etc, no windows options (ie no alt+tab, screen saver, etc). In the setup (install) I have selected soundblaster. If you want any other help or whatever, drop me a line. Ciao Jon Hope

No, I failed to mention that I purchased my system prior to the release of Windows 95. The AWE32 is not the plug 'n' play version. -- ************************************************************************ David A. AWE32/WIN95 DOSMODE: 1) Check your c:\windows for a file named dosstart.bat it should contain the following:***NOTE*** Your MSCDEX line may be different C:\WINDOWS\CTPNP C:\MOUSE\mouse.exe C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:ASPICD0 /M:12 /L:H 2) Now, if you a)Right Click F1GP.EXE and SELECT:b)Properties c)Programs d)Advanced E)Click Dos Mode Button 3) Enter The Following for Config.sys:***Note***Only include the I=B000-B7FF if you don't use a monochrome monitor "this will free upper memory" "also the 0 in B000 is a zero". DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS I=B000-B7FF DOS=HIGH,UMB 4) Enter The Following for Autoexec.bat: SET winbootdir=C:\WINDOWS SET PROMPT=$p$g SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\DOS CALL DOSSTART.BAT _____________________________________________________________ This setup will allow F1GP to automatically restart in DosMode! HINT!!! This Setup can basically be used with any Dos Program with very little modification to the Virtual Boot i.e.(the above config.sys and autoexec.bat). Edit as you would any bootdisk or setup for that particular program. ********************************************************************************* Chance Montgomery *********************************************************************************
