Did anyone notice that the two pictures of C***te are identical exept for the sunspots and glare. The other cars and track positioning is identical. Check it out, I'm not kidding. I don't see how this could be possible to do taking live screenshots. I hope the sun shots aren't to good to be true. Dana Bailes

Mike, I suppose you have some facts to back up your claim? Ed, please confirm/deny the authenticity of the screenshots. I doubt anyone would waste their time making such detailed screens, especially the menus. Did you contact Next Generation? Todd

The screen shots are real. We showed them at E3 last month. HOWEVER, they are PRELIMINARY screen shots... more mock-ups than anything else. Ed Martin Producer, Series Director NASCAR Racing League Papyrus / Sierra On-Line, Inc.

The one with the glare on the windshield makes it nearly impossible to see ANY cars on the track, yet alone there exact positions in comparison to the other C***te pic.

I pulled the pics of my browser and opened them both with Apple Picture Viewer since they are jpeg. Then I zoomed them both to full screen and flipped back and forth between them by clicking on their task bar buttons. They just happened to come up exactly on top of each other. If you do this you can tell that except for the glare they are exactly the same. Papyrus people have already admitted they are mock ups anyway. I really don't care if they are or not as long as this stuff gets in the game. Dana Bailes

Speaking from a software engineer's point of view, I believe that Papyrus may have a toggle built into the sim that they can use to debug their code and produce screen shots that we as users would not be able to do. They pause the sim (omit display of "Pause", if the screen isn't moving then they know it's paused), then take a shot of the screen. While it's paused, they toggle on glare. It is a valuable tool to be able to pause the action and then change different parts of the display to make sure that everything is working well. Papyrus has already verified that these are authentic, however, the glare may not make it into the next release of NCR.
