I doubt you can jump the start, the cars will be held in place until
green lights are GO!!
There may be a penalty for speeding in the pits though.

The real PENALTY GP2 MUST HAVE is a $10.00 rebate from it's price
for making all of us waiting (over a year) for this game to it's
release.
BTW does MICROprose is related to MICROsoft? I suspect delay in
software has something to do with "MICRO".

races do you? If you did then you may have noticed that a jump start
penalty is 10 SECONDS. Try Watching the real thing before you make a
comment. Get your facts right moron

Are we talking F1 here? 10 sec is so significant that even Schumy probably
won't be able to make up to win the race from Hill.
10 sec penalty is equalvent of, about 30 to 40 sec of stop because you have
to go into pit [speed limit in pit lane] and re-accelerate to racing speed.

also Microsoft DO release beta software so people can have a play
before they release the finished product ...

5 minutes - now that _would_ be a bit harsh. If a 10 second stop-go penalty
were to be implemented in GP2 for jump starts then it would have to be
a bit 'clever' to prevent drivers from just starting to race long before
the green lights come on (or even before the parade lap has finished). By
doing this, a driver could probably gain an advantage which would more
than off-set the 10 second stop-go penalty. If I were implementing the
game, I would probably only allow the cars to get away from the grid
some time after the red light has come on, and thus negate any advantage
gained by a "mega" jump start.
