I just d/l Univbe 5.2 [actually Scitech Display Doctor] and am
experiencing installation bugaboos. I habe tried the following:
1. Rename univbe.drv to univbe.bak and booting the new version [univbe.exe]
in my autoexec.bat file. [Windows 95 program specific autoexec.bat, that is]
Result: Game hangs after brief speaker static before intro screen.
2. Same as above but with uninstalling existing univbe driver in ICR2 setup.
Result: Same as above
3. Replace univbe.drv and uvconfig.exe in ICR2 directory with new versions.
Result: Different version error message, any key to return to Win95
4. Same as #3 but with installing new univbe driver in ICR2 setup.
Result: System lock as in #1
I am running a Gateway P100 with a STB Vision 95 Video + card. I use a
shortcut to ICR2 on my desktop in Win95 linked to custom
Autoexec.bat/Config.sys files.
Can anyone guide me from the original univbe setup [accomplished in ICR2 setup
with no mention of univbe in either startup file] to a successful upgrade to
univbe 5.2? None of the suggestions so far in this group have proven
successful.
Thanks,
eric
