To all, I'm wondering with all this hype and everyone soooooo anxious to have the patch made available, if it really is going to meet everyones expectations?? All I've heard so far, on the other tracks people have experimented with, is "Its only a renamed C***te" and "Nice try"..or something to that effect. I just hope that with all this Suspence..Secretism.. (er..ahh..is that a word??:)...and DELAY, that this track looks, feels and acts like the 6 month wait that it has been !! It would be pretty funny if we finally loaded it up and it was just another Talladega with a new name.. Waiting like the rest of ya, Mick
>Talladega with a new name.. This is why I keep asking if the tri-oval turn will still be the "tough" turn, or will it instead be the turn3/4 curve? -- Best Wishes!!! Robert Huggins Raleigh, NC

Well, it appears there's a good chance it's not going to happen at all. The Daytona page was allegedly taken off "The Pits" US web site after the Daytona licensing manager called up Jan Kohl asking for an address to send a "cease and desist" letter. They are apparently prepared to play legal hard ball to prevent the "unauthorized use" of the Daytona name and/or track likeness. Now before you start flaming the Daytona folks, under the usual terms of a licensing agreement, they have an obligation to defend the property (the name and likeness of Daytona, in this case) against unauthorized use to protect the value of the license to their licensee(s) (Sega, in this case). So, whether this action was prompted by Sega, or they undertook it on their own, it's likely something they had to do in order to uphold their end of the agreement. I seriously doubt that either Jed or Jan is in a position to put up a legal fight and, as I mentioned in a previous rock, the penalties for infringement can be quite severe and may even include a prison term. This is something that the other people doing clone tracks might want to take into consideration before distributing them on the net. Dave "davids" Sparks Sequoia Motorsports
