I am intending to buy a AWE32 Pro edition, but just want to know are there much difference among AWE32 Pro, AWE32 Value and SB 32? Which one should I buy? Which one has the best value? I am going to use it for game purpose, of course.

I don't know about the SB32, but the differences between the AWE 32 full version and AWE 32 value version are that the full version has expandable on-board ram for wavetable midi samples, and it also comes with a DSP chip (which has to be bought separately for the value version. As far as using it for games goes, it makes no difference whether you buy the full version or the value version. No games software I know of makes use of any additonal wavetable ram you might have on the card. Also, as far as I am aware of no games use the DSP chip either. If you ever intend using the card for midi music, however, buy the full version. You can put up to 28Mb of ram on the card for lots of samples. The value version has only 512k and is not expandable. I got one about 6 months ago and even though it was cheap I am regretting it because 512k is not enough for more than a couple of really decent samples. ****************************************************** * "What ? The SB32 is similar to the value AWE in that it has no DSP chip ( no difference in games) , but it has no built in ram ( the value has 512k ) but it DOES have sim slots. Also, I believe that its only available as a Plug n Play, but it works in almost any system ( well, maybe not in NT :-) )

Yes it does work in NT, both 3.51 and 4.0. There are PnP drivers on the Creative web site. Creative is the ONLY sound card manufacturer who has NT drivers for their PnP cards. WooHoo Mike
