Thanks Ed Martin (and Papyrus)

8 posts by 8 people · 09 May 1996 - 17 May 1996

I just wanted to say Thanks to Ed (et. al.) for playing such an active role here and putting up all the headaches that go along. Most of us really appreciate individuals and organizations that are willing to step up to the front lines and get involved with their customers. It doesn't happen often enough, but the companies that do earn my respect and loyalty. I posted a request for help in this group several days ago. Within hours(!) I had gotten a response from Ed in this group *and* an email from Charlie with a potential solution. THIS IS GREAT SUPPORT! Let's not forget that. Having said that, I'm just as anxious an the next guy for the remaining bugs to get worked out of Hawaii (a beta product remember) and for a better access method (I'm not looking forward to my phone bill). I'm also anxious to get my lockup problems fixed. But given the level of support I've seen here so far, I'm confident that these things will be addressed. Thanks Ed. Keep up the great support.

derrick, I KNOW Ed has replied to your post here, maybe your news server suffers the same limited capacity it's users seem to. I KNOW he responded cuz I also responded to your request, altho Ed's response was much more civil than mine. He actually answered your question, where as I simply opted to ROAST you for Happy Lappin' Wade Tschida W_Cheeta #49 DB Motorsports

You're welcome, we appreciate the feedback. I'll probably be a bit less active in responding to users postings here, because (believe it or not) I'm even more anxious to get the remaining bugs worked out of Hawaii than you guys are, and get on to the next stage of development. RAS has been an excellent source of feedback for us, but I spend most of my time staring at core dumps, race logs, and source code. I'd also like to devote a bit more of my recreational time to figuring out how to get myself up on the top 20 racers list (though I'd probably have better odds at locating the Holy Grail at this point!), not to mention my lovely wife. If anyone's unable to get a reply from me on postings here or to my BIX Charlie Heath Tech Lead, NASCAR multiplayer Papyrus Design Group

On that point, have any of us who've discovered Hawaii remembered our wives? Our survival may be a stake, gents.... :-) Just a friendly reminder from: Mike (aka Dr2) Hawaii racer 1 wife 3 kids 2 other hobbies collecting dust... ------------- "Sleep? Naw, I think it's highly overrated" -------------------

I remember someone at work saying that Mothers day was approaching.... Just exactly when IS mothers day? :-) -- Best Wishes!!! Robert Huggins Raleigh, NC
