RBR - it just gets more realistic!

So, I'm doing the championship in realistic damage mode, and have an off in the wet in Japan. My car is stuck in 3rd, the clutch is starting to slip, my door is missing and the windscreen is cracked. With the rain peliting down, I can hardly see, so it can't get any worse, can it? Wrong! As soon as I go over a decent bump, the bonnet (hood) flies up at 130 km/h, completely blocking my view except for the tiny gap at the bottom from which I can only see the road about 2 meters ahead of the car. This has happened to me in real life, and I tell you its a scary experience!. So, I slam on the brakes, trying to remember where the road goes, but the air pressure keeps the bonnet up until I'm almost at a complete stop. I crawl off in 3rd gear, and once I get up to 80 km/h, I notice the bonnet starting to vibrate and rise a few cm. Around 100 kmh, up it goes again. So, I manage to crawl to the end of the stage (luckily to the overnight service). On the replay, it is just phenomenal. For the first time, I see the beautifuly detailed engine. The moment of the bonnet and the flipping up has to have perfect physics modelling - its just spot on. Kudos again. Tim

This has you know a game is too realistic if you find yourself lowering your head so you get a better view "underneath" the hood... I can picture you now sitting there squinting at the monitor ;-) cheers, uwe -- mail replies to Uwe at schuerkamp dot de ( yahoo address is spambox) Uwe Schuerkamp //////////////////////////// http://www.schuerkamp.de/ Herford, Germany \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ (52.0N/8.5E) GPG Fingerprint: 2E 13 20 22 9A 3F 63 7F 67 6F E9 B1 A8 36 A4 61
Any chance of putting the replay file somewhere so we can watch, sounds thrilling. I had a Mk 1 Escort bonnet fly up on me in the middle of the night in deepest darkest Wales years ago. Heck, I've just done that when I smash the windshield, moving my head around trying to see around the crack that sits right in my field of view! I thought it was also really cool that when I smashed only the right side of my windshield on a passing branch, I could barely see the cracks in my driver-seat view, and they seemed to match the cracks visible on the car from the outside. Man, this game just keeps impressing me more and more. Now, if only we can get the interface punched up!

Umm, I must be missing something, I can't see the replay file or a screen shot there. The only problem is that the bonnet up bit was 9 minutes into a 11 minute stage. I'll see if I can find a piece of software that will enable a screen shot to be taken of the replay, and upload it to RSC forum. TIm "Andi Cole" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:4156a97f$0$42247$[email hidden]...

Ok, I've uploaded the replay, if you can cope with watching 10 minutes of average driving before it flies up. TIm http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?p=2039551#post2039551 "Andi Cole" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:4156a97f$0$42247$[email hidden]...
