MicroProse Grand Prix II - weekly reminder

This message is posted on every Saturday to rec.autos.simulators,
comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.misc and rec.auto.sport.f1. Although it's slightly
off-topic in r.a.s.f1, people keep talking about the game in this group
so I think this message can be posted there also.
The Grand Prix II FAQ is brand new and I'm still adding news to it. If
you have any news or question you can mail me (Wilfred van der Deijl)
There is a HTML-version of the FAQ at

When I'm finished writing the first version of the FAQ I will create a
text-version that will be posted to rec.autos.simulators regularly. Until
then only the HTML-version is available.

with hard facts about the game. This means that some
information in the FAQ might prove incorrect when the game
is released. I try to use only the information that looks
reliable, to prevent all kinds of rumors ending up in the FAQ.

I'm just wondering ... Is there a real need for this kind of
waste of bandwidth?!? I mean, it's highly unlikely that anybody reading
this group can forget that F1GP2 is coming sometime in the future,
and that it's not yet released! Do we really need to be reminded of that?
And all the URL's that this 'reminder' includes can easily be found
by any of the web search engines ...

Well, if half the people posting here would actually bother to read
Wilf's post then a lot of the meaningless drivel on this group would
disappear.
Unfortunately, most people are incredibly lazy and would rather just
ask than bother to spend 5 minutes actually finding something out for
themselves - posts like the reminder go some way to encouraging people
not to be quite so lazy.
And as for bandwidth, it's a tiny post with useful content which pales
into insignificance compared to the "I read this on the SH message
board!" posts.
