Modem Problems with NFS

Can somebody help me?I have a 486dx4/100 with 16 megs of mem,A 14,400 Amquest modem and am running Windows95.My problem is I can't get NFS to reconize my modem,My modem works with NASCAR and The internet and AOL alright,Just won't work with NFS.The only thing I know is when I installed the modem it set it at COM 3 and IRQ 3,When I loaded WIN95 it changed it to COM 4 IRQ 4.When in Dos Mode I still have to use old Settings,com3irq4,In win95 the new settings.Is it possible that I may have to change the settings on my modem card to match what is used in WIN95,Can't change WIN95 to match other way cause WIN95 doesn't show COM 3 port,Please Help,A friend and I are really wanttin to Modem race and I THANK YOU

Ever try it from DOS and not Win95? I've tried it through Win95 but win95 won't let any dos programs use my modem... but I play all my modem games through DOS.
