F1GP2.MOV Good video, bad audio, what's wrong?

3 posts by 3 people · 08 Feb 1996 - 15 Feb 1996

I downloaded the f1gp2.mov file from Microprose's ftp site and finally got it to play with QTW111.ZIP, a Quick Time for Windows player I found at Uni Koeln's Gopher server(I'll Look up the URL if anyone asks). The video looks great but the sound is just crackling static. I have a Sound Blaster card. Is the audio simply incompatible with Quick Time players? I'd appreciate any pointers to get the sound I've been missing since Nov. in Austrailia. (EEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW) (from Milton, not Susan as per heading)

writes You are using an old version of QTW. I had the same problem but then having set up QTW2 or higher, the problem resolved itself. To get the latest version go to the apple website and download or the easier and cheaper way is to find it on the latest magazine cover disks. Hope this helps you out. -- The Joker

You have not been missing a lot. That movie was taken from an old demo and the sound was exactly the one from F1GP (yes, the first one). The sound has been changed (so I heard) and is very, very good now. But guess well only know when the game is released. BTW, I saw the movie with apple quicktime player and it was fine! cheers Miguel -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Carlos Miguel Santos Cordeiro -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
