Get those 96 nascar dats ready

4 posts by 4 people · 18 Jan 1996 - 19 Jan 1996

Here are some of the changes for the upcoming season. I took them from the March issue of Circle Track & Racing Technology magazine. Some of the cars were not listed (ie Gordon, Martin etc.). I think this is because there wasnt any reported changes from last season. The title of the article was NASCAR Teams of 96 Who's going where. The update here is correct except for the sponsor of the #1 Rick Mast Pontiac, which will be Hooters for '96(as reported on Nashville Network). [stuff deleted] just read in Winston Cup Scene (issue of Jan 11, 1996) that Rick Mast picked up Hooters as their sponsor for 1996... (that one ought to be easy enough to do :) Go #6 Mark Martin and #16 Ted Musgrave - Jack Roush Racing!! NASCAR Racing!! http://camalott.com/~sean/nascar/nascar.htm <--NASCAR Racing Sim page
More info (taken from various sites on the net): #1 - Hooters takes over as sponsor #2 - Miller Racing "new" sponsor, will promote MGD and Lite in "fine print" #6 - new paint, resembles Martin's 1995 Brickyard 400 design #8 - Kendall is new sponsor #15 - Wally Dallenbach signed as driver for now, looking for sponsor #42 - new red, blue and gold paint job #43 - new silver and Petty blue 25th anniversary design #71 - Olive Garden gone, new sponsor not announced yet #77 - Federal-Mogul joins Jasper #81 - Square D new primary sponsor, probably blue/gold colors #87 - expect a new paint job #94 - new paint, white accents on front of car #99 - Jeff Burton's Exide ride is #99, not #98 Can't wait for Daytona! (too bad us Papyrus-sim racers can't race there)
