IndyCar 1 + Win95 = don't work ?

3 posts by 3 people · 23 Oct 1995 - 25 Oct 1995

I have trouble getting IndyCar working with Windows95. Maybe it's the disk compression that's causing problems, cause before it i remember that it worked. Could someone send me his/her settings to run it under windows ? I've tryed all the options in 'advanced' and in 'non-dos mode' there's a page fault memory error! Thanks for any help! P.S.: I've tryed under dos (clean boot) and it loads for a while and then blank screen and back to dos prompt. --------------------------------------------------------------------- - _/_/_/_/ _/_/ _/ | Montreal, Quebec, Canada - - _/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ _/ _/_/ | IndyCar Racing Series participant - - _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/ | - ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I have Win 95, and it runs fine in DOS mode. I think your disk compression might be the cause of your problems. Make sure that you are running in DOS mode, not the "Use DOS if necessary" mode. If that doesn't work, reboot and press F8 just before it says "Starting Windows 95", then press 6. You may have to load MSCDEX manually by typing MSCDEX /D:MSCD001. Then try running it.

I have not been able to get ICR to run on my machine with plain old DOS and disk compression, why anyone would want to through Windoze95 in the mix is beyond me. I would have to guess that it is the compression messing things up. As soon as I get a big hard drive, I am chucking the compression. bryon -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Vehicles must carry 3 or more persons to be in the "car-pool" tunnel.
