What will be minimum requirements for IndyCar Racing II be for my computer? <<< We haven't finalized them yet. For DOS, VGA it should be a 486 DX-33 with 6MB RAM (4 with no texture mapping). For DOS, SVGA the minimum will be a 486 DX2/66 with 8MB of RAM, but, as the ads say, "runs better on a Pentium" :-). The problem is the platform you are using when playing. Dos/4G doesn't need anything but the himem.sys loaded. When you use QEMM (like I do) make a different setup specially for games, because a lot of games nowadays use DOS/4GW. DOS/4GW enables programmers to use the entire memory of a computer instead of the ***ed up DOS limit of 640Kb. Larger games can run on your PC, so be pleased that some smart person invented DOS/4GW ;) If you don't know how to make a different setup, try starting your computer with no setup at all (hold down left shift key during startup, or press F5 to avoid loading autoexec and config). If you really don't know what to do, mail me and I'll try and explain and send you an example of a startup menu (or read the DOS manual)... Hey Jason, It sounds just like my problem when I try to run Nascar or Indycar after booting for windows. It souns like a crash due to your memory manager set-up wrong for DOS/4G. I'm not sure about how it works but it's a 32 bit mode, and it doesn't work well with Qemm <or> emm386. BUT, this set-up config works fine for me. 486DX-2/66 with 8mb. RAM and the ever so slow ISA 2mb. video card I have. I hope this helps: autoexec.bat= D: CD\NASCAR NASCAR config.sys= device=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE noems dos=high, umb P.S. I left out my sound card set-up in here, so be sure to add that to your autoexec.bat and config.sys to get your sound working right.
